Star Nissan Sponsors National Night Out

On Tuesday, August 7th, Star Nissan proudly sponsored Niles Police Department’s National Night Out. The National Night Out (NNO) is an annual event meant to improve Police-Community relations. NNO is held on the first Tuesday in August throughout the United States. The National Night Out started in 1983 and has grown annually. Niles 1st participated in the NNO in 2002 and has participated every year since.

Each year, the Niles Police Department selects a different location within the Village of Niles to highlight the various parts of the Village to the community.

The Niles Police Department works to improve upon the previous years events by adding activities that highlight community involvement as well as promote a public safety message.

Late on Tuesday, there were several vendors and activities, which included interacting with some cuddly animals from JG’s Reptile Roadshow, like an incredibly large snake, tarantulas, and a baby alligator.

There was also a train sponsored by Star Nissan, bounce-house, hot dogs & popcorn, and t-shirts for everyone, as well as a “dunk-a-cop” game.

Star Nissan brought two vehicles to event, there were many officers on scene, and a large amount of the community came out to take advantage of the event!
